Stefan Decosse, MA, 2015. Assistant Coach Colgate University's Women's hockey team. 2017-8. Stefan was supervised by Glen Norcliffe, and wrote an MA thesis on the new geographies of elite hockey player production.

Alex Kent, MSc, 2014.  Contract environmental consultant focusing on policy analysis.  Previously the Policy Manager for the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (2015-2017) and a Policy Advisor for the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario (2017).
 In his geothermal work Alex was a registered lobbyist and his efforts culminated in a 2017 amendment to the Canadian Income Tax Act that changed the definition of geothermal energy which now allows smaller projects to be economically viable.  Supervisor:  Taly Drezner.

Dory Kornfeld, MA, 2007. City Research Scientist at NYC Human Resources Administration, and freelance graphic designer (as of 2017). Dr. Kornfeld obtained a PhD at Columbia University after completing her MA at York Geography. Her supervisor at York University was Patricia Wood.

Esther Rootham, MA, 2007. PhD program at Oxford University; Social Researcher, Research and Evaluation Unit, Auckland City Council, New Zealand. Supervisor: Philip Kelly.

Stéphanie Watt, MA, 2006. City Councillor, Montreal, and Editor. Stephanie was elected to Montreal City Council in 2017, and states on her webpage that in this position she will be able to take advantage of her experience as an urban geographer, entrepreneur and lit mother to ensure a neighborhood life enhanced by the development of pleasant and accessible public and commercial spaces, for all ages and all seasons. Her supervisor was Patricia Wood.

Diego Sotomayor, PhD, 2016.  Conservation specialist at the Genetic Resources Division of the National Institute of Agricultural Innovation in Peru, a governmental organization dedicated to the conservation and sustainable use of Peru's agricultural resources. His supervisors were Chris Lortie and Taly Drezner.

Hulya Arik, PhD 2015. Postdoctoral Fellow in Gender Studies at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Hulya is a researcher for the project: Spaces of Resistance. A study of gender and sexualities at times of transformation. Her research is on the cultural politics of religion and gender with a focus on the Islamic visual arts scene in Istanbul. PhD. Supervisor: Alison Bain.

Vanessa Lamb, PhD, 2014. Lecturer, School of Geography, University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia (2017). Dr. Lamb was also the lead PI for a CGIAR WLE Greater Mekong project on water governance entitled Matching policies, institutions and practices of water governance in the Salween-Thanlwin-Nu River Basin.

Nga Dao, PhD, 2012.  Assistant Professor, International Development Studies, and Business and Society, Department of Social Science, York University, beginning 2018.  Dr. Nga Dao was also Director (and co-founder) of the Center for Water Resources Conservation and Development, an environmental organization in Vietnam  (2017), and received a hotspot hero award from the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund in 2016.  Her supervisor was Peter Vandergeest.

Julie Young, PhD, 2012.  Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Critical Border Studies in the Department of Geography at the University of Lethbridge. (2018) Dr. Young was supervised by Patricia Wood.

Keith Barney, PhD 2011. Lecturer, Resources, Environment, and Development Group, Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University, Canberra, Australia (2017). Keith's supervisor was Philip Kelly, and his dissertation was awarded an FGS Dissertation Prize.

Kevin DeJesus, PhD, 2011. Assistant Professor, Department of Social Sciences, Johnson and Wales University, Providence, Rhode Island, United States (2017). Dr. DeJesus was supervised by Jamie Scott.

Dr. DeJesus was appointed in a Faculty Research Fellow during 2016-17 for his work on armed groups in the Greater Middle East, and has been interviewed in the national media in the United States on events in Syria.
